Christening, naming ceremonies, birthdays and BBQ's

What a busy Sunday, after a mad Saturday. With no girls in tow (they were enjoying a morning with their grandparents) I had a nice long bath, alone! and got ready for the church on time. Clinton and I went to watch baby Alexander Follows get christened at St Johns Church, the church where we married and had Megan christened. I really enjoyed the ceremony, had a good old sing song, even though Clinton smelt of alcohol and found it really hard not to laugh at the ladies singing next to him or the godly words from the sermon. Clinton is not a religious man and would rather discuss dinosaurs with vicars than miracles, but that is an entirely different story.

After church and our polite conversations with the christening party and the vicar we descended on my folks with orange juice and pain aux chocolate and rescued them from our little treasures. Megan was dressed in her party dress, Erin in her Kango silver trouser suit (bless) and we arrived at the first christening party, Flash and Kate. We spent a few hours there, it took us a time to leave as Megan managed to wee all over their rather nice unsoiled sofa (what a sofa to pick to pee on!) and the cream carpet! Flash insisted in washing the sofa covers, there and then and asked politely for me to make sure the stain was out of the carpet! I felt awful and made a quick escape to the next party at Kirten and Iains.

We made it just in time for the speeches, just as the clouds came over their lovely garden and the sun disappeared for the day. The kids still enjoyed all Euans birthday toys, the giant Thomas the tank engine, the mini bouncy castle and the sand pit. Euan managed to pop the bouncy castle by eating it and a few of the girls managed to pop Thomas by continually jumping from a height into it! By this time i was beginning to feel my pregnancy. I tend to just listen to everything around me and not get involved in conversation because my mind doesn't actually function and I just find it hard to communicate. Sounds very odd, even though there was so much happening around me I just didn't have the energy to be entertaining or to talk to anyone. This is the time when its great to have a baby because you can just disappear and watch some crap on TV and blame it on the kids.! It was a great party but by 9.30 I had really had enough and was ready for my sofa. Megan was tired and grumpy, Erin was starting to get hungry again! We all left before the curry came out and we got a second wind!

What a day, actually what a weekend so far!
