38 weeks - 6 days left of work

I woke this morning at 5.30 and it is my day off! Can you believe it. Erin stirred and by the time I got back into bed I was just wide awake. I tried my hardest to sleep but got excited about the things and cores I had to do today. That is another sad thing about me, I get excited about work things! very odd. Instead of going on line and answering work emails this morning I managed to catch up on my blog, so I am very pleased with myself as it is only 7.30am.

By 6am I was on my first cup of green mint tea, a new drink I have discovered after dining at a Moroccan restaurant with the lovely friend, Clare (Fluff). Green tea is very good for your system but tastes horrid so by adding mint leaves and brown sugar you end up with a very tasty drink. I haven't had a real cup of tea in 3 days and feel much better for it.

I am now approaching my 38th week of pregnancy, have 6 days left at work and really have done no preparation for number 3. Clinton pointed out last night that if was to go into labour next week my parents are away and we don't even have cover for the kids!.

Well as Megan and Erin were both late I am just assuming that this one will be late too, but one should never assume! I did a few radical things yesterday. I asked the estate agency to take yet another £10k off the asking price of our house to encourage a sale and I cancelled one part of my mortgage direct debit as I really don't trust the bank to do it on time and I don't want yet another £600 taken out of my bank account this month.

I am now 38 week pregnant, bump 3 should weigh about 7 to 7.5 pounds / 3.1 to 3.4 kilograms and she continues to build her fat stores that will help regulate body temperature after birth. Her organ systems are fully developed and in place, but the lungs will be last to reach maturity. (Even when baby is born, it may take a few hours before she establishes a normal breathing pattern.) Most Caucasian babies are born with dark blue eyes but both Erin and Megan were born with brown eyes, in fact we have had doctors saying how unusual Erins big brown eyes were. The colour of most baby's eyes in the first minutes after birth won't last -- exposure to light changes a baby's initial eye colour. Most African and Asian babies usually have dark grey or brown eyes at birth -- their dark eyes becoming a true brown or black after the first six months or year. Multiracial children often turn out to have the most beautiful coloured eyes, just like little Molly.

One thing that I have noticed throughout my pregnancy is the congestion I have been suffering. It feels that I have constant hay fever and my ears and are all echoey, it is very annoying as I have to keep asking people to repeat themselves all the time, I just can't concentrate when lots of people are in the room talking, but hey what's new!. I am still very flemmy too and now I constantly need to go to the toilet but when I get there nothing happens, again very annoying.

My home birth kit was delivered this week and I am off to the mid wife today for my next check up, I think everything is going to plan.

Anyway I must get Megans breakfast, she has finally woken and today she does seem in a much better mood! Lets hope it stays that way.
