Braxton Hicks or the real thing

Over the past few days I have been experiencing braxton hicks. In my first pregnancy I got them much earlier and I only had a few in my second but this time I have had them much later on, as in this week. Yesterday was bad, I didn't actually move off the sofa all night. It was lovely, Clinton made me dinner and I totally forgot to show my appreciation. I sometimes forget to speak when I get home, especially when full of hormones, tired and emotional. I and totally forgot to say thanks or show my thnaks to him. I know I complain when I feel I am taken advantage of and then I go and do the same back, so I am so sorry Clinton, I do appreciate you.

Braxton Hicks are practice contractions, they are named Braxton Hicks because Dr John Braxton Hicks first wrote about them in 1872. It would have to be a bloody man who discovered them wouldn't it, probably because no one would have taken a woman seriously in 1872!. I find that a nice warm bath soothes the feelings. They aren't painful, just annoying and uncomfortable. Doctors believe that Braxton Hicks contractions are part of your body getting ready for labor, and that they get the processes of effacement and dilation going in preparation for delivery. (This is called 'ripening'.) So there you go, I am finally ripe!!

I can't believe I still have 6 weeks to go! I really think I might just pop!
