Bath time

I don't know about you but bath time are fab in our house. I used to see it as a bit of a chore when I was working, it just took too long but now it is fun and no longer a routine. Sometimes the girls bath on their own but when I have the time I love to get in with them. We have lots of fun, play bubbles and games in the bath, Dora the explorer is one of Megans favorites and the counting tiles that Lisa and Gary bought her is another. Erin just likes to splash and make mess. Today we had a well needed bath after daisy's birthday. Erin was covered in sticky stuff from head to toe. A mixture of icecream, sausages, strawberries and ham topped with a fine layer of mud, whilst Megan just had birthday cake and jammy doggers over her face, neck and hands. We always enter a party looking lovely, dressed up in party dresses and jewels, hair all nice in plaits or bunches and they end up looking like they have just been in a wrestling match with the marshmellow man on a very hot day!

Bath time today was an event. First of all it was just myself and Erin enjoying a few splashes and then Megan joined us for a hair wash and eventually Cerys came in because she was needing a feed so I thought I would do feeding and cleaning at the same time. Well not the best idea I have had in a while. I did think it a bit mad to bath a year old and a five week old at the same time. It wasn't the space it was the fact that Erin likes to stand up and sit down several times a minute and most of the sitting was in the direction of myself and Cerys. Cerys took it well and barely made a sound but I thought it best to remove Erin in case of a drowning incident. Megan then decided to leave as her fingertips were disappearing...that left just Cerys and myself, the two of us just looking at each other and talking silly, as one does with a newborn!!. It was just lovely, Cerys eyes followed my movements and she smiled as I talked, we had a lovely time, that was until she decided to poo all over me!!! yes the moment of bonding was totally ruined by yellow runny poo everywhere....how gross...all my fault, I shouldn't have attempted to be practical and share my bath!

The pictures are after our bath, a very happy empty Cerys.
