Out with the girls...or in with them

Rebecca hosted a great night at hers with a few of the girls, the idea was to talk about new business ventures we could occupy our time with. As I am on maternity in 6 weeks I wanted to get some feedback on my idea. I won't go into depth about it as I want to build a website and do a business plan before I get too excited, but it is a way of working closer with Clinton, getting him lots of work and employing others to take on bigger jobs. I am really quite excited about the marketing and sales side of the business. We already have a LTD company set up for Clinton, this is just expanding it and taking on new work. I need to talk to an accountant now to look at tax problems we may face and how to employ others. Rebecca is also going to see if funding is available to get a professional website off the ground and Laura is going to help advertise the service by giving testimonials and promoting our service on the Telegraph intranet. That is all I am going to tell at this moment in time, just watch out for the website!

Onto the girls night. It was lovely to get out on a Saturday night, beats babysitting and waiting for Clinton to return from the rugby club all tanked up. We had lovely lasagna, cooked by the wonderful Rebecca, followed by lots of yummy pudding, ice cream and very healthy fruit. As the evening progressed and we went through the main topics of ideas, taxes, government and politics, men and marriage.

Rebecca and I suddenly realised that everyone had retired to bed or gone home, so we got on updating each other on everything that had gone on in our lives over the last few months. Bec's is doing really well in her business, I am so proud of her, she is so good at what she does and at last things are working out for her. Thank god she left VNU when she did, things have gone in the right direction. By the end of the year she will have a deposit for a house! She is planning to move in with Jonathan, she is so happy with him, it is great to see. Bec's is also so supportive of the things I do, she gives advice but doesn't force her opinion on me, just what you need from a friendship. Her and Pete (Clintons best mate) have been a godsend in our relationship, I don't know what I have would have done with either of them. It was great to spend some quality time with Bec’s and boy can we put the world to rights and catch up with all the gossip, we continued for hours, me on the fizzy water and Bec’s on a number of bottles of White. At 4am we realised the time and called it a day, I could have carried on till breakfast but thought better of it. It was a lovely evening, thanks Bec’s, I really needed that.
